The concept of ceramic coatings is now familiar to most vehicle owners today. A clear coat that includes a liquid polymer, nano-ceramic coating in Sri Lanka has caught the attention of vehicle owners.
When a ceramic coating is applied onto a vehicle’s paint surface, the polymer in it forms a chemical bonding with the factory paint. Once coated, nano-coating in Sri Lanka can only be removed by serious abrasion and not by any chemicals. If done correctly a ceramic coating job can last for a very long time.
Ceramic coating in Sri Lanka offers excellent protection to a vehicle’s surface. The coating protects the car from most scratches, dirt, debris, and chemical contaminants. Ceramic coatings also don’t have any side-effects to the original paint surface. This type of coating lasts for longer than regular paint. Since the coating binds with the factory paint on the vehicle’s surface due to strong chemical bonding, the protection that ceramic coatings offer remains intact even under heavy shocks and vibrations.
A vehicle surface that has been treated with ceramic coating is also very easy to clean. The body panels that are treated with ceramic coatings will be glossy, smooth and free of abrasions. It also negates the effect of dirt and road debris to stick onto the surface and even if it does, a simple wipe with a clean cloth will bring the vehicle back to its glossy finish.
Before the advent of ceramic coatings and paint protection films, vehicles were given that extra shine by waxing. However, the results of waxing is temporary and the effects will wear off fast. While both ceramic coating and waxing takes up a considerable amount of time to be applied, in the long run, ceramic coating is superior to waxing due to its longer life and better finish.
The longevity of ceramic coatings indirectly makes it a more cost-effective option. Additionally, besides all the above mentioned advantages, ceramic coatings simply make a vehicle look much better.
The downside of ceramic coatings, however, is that it comes at a high price and the price point varies depending on the quality. Though ceramic coating might be cheaper than PPF or Paint Protection Film, the cost is still relatively high.
Another disadvantage is that the application of ceramic coating takes up time. If you plan to treat your vehicle with ceramic coating, be ready to leave it at the detailing shop for at least three days. Moreover, if not applied professionally and in the correct manner, ceramic coating might end up looking worse than the original paint finish of a vehicle.
In the end, every vehicle owner wants to keep their vehicle in their best possible shine throughout all its life. Since the effects of ceramic coatings are long lasting, people opt for it even if the costs are comparatively higher.
